hi!

me & my art

I am Kelly Halseth, an artist based in Montreal. Pursuing a BFA in Ceramics at Concordia University, I am refining my ceramic practice while also exploring other mediums, most notably fibers and sculpture.

My journey with clay, spanning nearly a decade and three countries, became a full-time pursuit in 2021. Grounded in my previous roles in social work, social policy and non-profit leadership, my work is deeply influenced by these diverse experiences and my deep-seated curiosity about socio-political landscapes.

Through my art, I explore the intimate—anxieties, shame, beliefs, familial dynamics—while consciously linking these personal narratives to broader societal issues. Each piece is a dialogue between the personal and the political, seeking to evoke empathy, inspire conversation, and reveal the intricate connections between individual experiences and our collective humanity.
